Market Theatre Project

The Market Theatre, in Johannesburg, which was redesigned by KMH Architects has been shortlisted in the WAN Performing Spaces Award 2017.  Plantech's Mechanical Engineering department involvement in the project was designing the HVAC, electrical and electronic systems which included the lift installation, access control, CCTV and data points, cold room as well as a prop hoist.

The WAN Performing Spaces Award 2017 showcases excellence in design, whether an opera house, theatre, concert hall or other live performance space. The award has been established to celebrate and promote the best in international architecture for performing arts venues, attracting entries from all over the world.  Read more about the awards here

Allandale Project

Plantech's Mechanical Engineering department was recently involved in the Allandale project with the design of the HVAC system.  Attacq's (the client) Waterfall City is a new city development that is conveniently located between Sandton and Pretoria with easy access - via Allandale Road - to the N1 highway.  It is the largest urban concept development in South Africa and brings all the advantages of being able to plan a new city from scratch.
